Dr Ravi K Mehrotra CBE is founder and Executive Chairman of Foresight Ltd, London. A marine engineer by training, Ravi began his career in 1964 in the Shipping Corporation of India. Rising to the rank of Chief Engineer, he moved ashore and was seconded to Iran in 1975 to help set up an international joint venture. In 1979, he was appointed Principal Advisor on Shipping, a position he held for 10 years. His experience onboard and ashore nurtured his ambitions to start his own shipping company, Foresight Ltd, in 1984.

For his contributions to the maritime industry, Ravi received several accolades. In 2006, Ravi was named an Honorary Commander of British Empire (CBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In 2014, he was recognised by Lloyd’s List ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. Ravi is a visiting faculty member of the Cambridge Academy of Transport and chairman of the European Indian Chamber of Commerce.
